When you are trying to avoid a traffic ticket, then the best and easiest way is to just not get stopped. Avoiding a police offer’s gaze, though, might not be easy. There are a few things you can do to help ensure that your vehicle is not the one that the police notice.
Follow driving laws
First, don’t make an effort to break as many traffic laws as you can – make an effort to follow the rules. Play nicely with other vehicles on the road – signal your turns, stop at stop lights, and perhaps yield to pedestrians. If you drive defensively and stay away from clear mistakes, police are less likely to notice you.
Pick your car with care
Urban legend is that painting your auto one color or one more makes you more likely to get a ticket. You will find, though, certain makes and models of cars that are much more likely to get a ticket. If you’ve a choice, do not choose one of the autos on the top 10 most ticketed list.
3 – Stay with the pack
If you’re a part of the pack, you are much less likely to be noticed by the cops. Drive at about the same speed as the other cars.
Truckers know best
The trucks on the road are your friends, not just large and scary. Semi drivers generally warn each other of speed traps that are ahead. Staying close to a semi and driving as slowly as they do will help you stay away from a ticket.
Get the little things fixed
No matter where you are driving, damage to your vehicle – like dark headlights – help it stick out. It may not seem dangerous, but officers have a legitimate reason to pull you over if you have dark lights or a cracked windshield. Don’t risk it; spend the money now to conserve on insurance costs and stress later.
