Howard Arenstein imprisoned with his wife for cultivating

Orly Katz and Arenstein, a high-powered journalistic couple, were both arrested for weed production and sale over the weekend. . Orly Katz is the Washington correspondent for an Israeli newspaper. Arenstein, on the other hand, is the Columbia Broadcasting System Radio chief in D.C. Cannabis was found being grown and packaged within the couple’s house. Law enforcement imprisoned both individuals when they discovered the controlled substance.

Police got a complaint from neighbors about the Arenstein home. On the basis of this complaint, they obtained and used a search warrant. Both Arenstein and Katz were charged with possession with intent to distribute. No bail was required for Arenstein and Katz. They were released shortly after being charged. The crimes charged don’t require the couple charged to stay in jail before trial. If convicted, the couple could face various thousand dollars in fines and a couple of years in jail.

After neighbors complained about cannabis within the back yard, vice police officers raided Arenstein’s home. The back yard of the house was discovered to have eight foot tall cannabis plants. Six two-ounce bags of weed were also discovered in the house. The intent to distribute charge is depending on the small packages of controlled substances discovered.

CBS News launches investigation into Arenstein

CBS News officials have declined to officially comment on Howard Arenstein’s arrest. The investigation to the criminal arrest by the station has been begun, though, based on some informants inside the radio station. Simply being charged with the crimes may not be enough for Arenstein or Katz to lose their jobs. Weed use, production, or sale in the District of Columbia is not defensible under any law presently on the books.
