Howard Arenstein imprisoned with his wife for cultivating

Orly Katz and Arenstein, a high-powered journalistic couple, were both arrested for weed production and sale over the weekend. . Arenstein operates as the Columbia Broadcasting System Radio bureau chief in Washington D.C., while Katz acts as a Washington correspondent for Yedioth Ahronoth, a newspaper based upon in Israel. Weed was found being grown and prepared in the couple’s home. Police imprisoned both individuals when they discovered the controlled substance.

Vice cops police arrest Arenstein

Police got a complaint from neighbors about the Arenstein home. On the basis of this complaint, they obtained and used a search warrant. Both Arenstein and Katz were charged with possession with intent to distribute. No bail was required for Arenstein and Katz. They were released shortly after being charged. D.C. law allows them to wait for their trial while outside of lockup. If convicted, the couple could face several thousand dollars in fines and a couple of years in jail.

Howard Arenstein’s house had packaged cannabis

The Saturday morning raid at Howard Arenstein’s home was carried out by vice police after neighbors complained about the growing weed. The back yard of the house was found to have eight foot tall cannabis plants. 12 ounces of cannabis was also discovered packaged within the couple’s house. The truth that the cannabis was packaged in relatively large packages is what brought up the “intent to distribute” charge.

Arenstein may face investigation

There has been no official statement from CBS News Radio on the criminal arrest of Arenstein. The investigation into the criminal arrest by the station has been begun, though, according to some informants inside the radio station. It is possible that both Howard Arenstein and Orly Katz could lose their reporting jobs for this arrest, though not necessarily certain. D.C. does not have a medical weed law, which indicates there is no lawful recourse for the couple.
