The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled Nap Nanny products, with the support of manufacturer Baby Matters. One death has been attributed to a Nap Nanny, though the product was getting used incorrectly. The Baby Matters Nap Nanny
The Baby Matters business makes and distributes the Nap Nanny, a product they say helps fussy babies sleep more easily. The Nap Nanny has a three-point harness and molded foam. When the harness is used incorrectly, it doesn’t hold the baby in place. First-generation Nap Nanny products don’t have a D-ring to hold the Velcro harnesses in place. The recall is only for the first generation products, though there are concerns with second-generation products as well.
